These opportunities were made possible by donations to

the CFHS Alumni/Community Academic Endowment


2017

  • Android phones so students can build, upload, and test apps on real phones in  the computer programming course 

  • Vehicle kits and Codebender account access so students can build and program robotic vehicles to autonomously navigate a predetermined course

  • Travel expenses for choir to attend the Western A Choral Festival in Hamilton

  • Table rental for students to take the PSAT in preparation for the ACT and SAT

  • Funding to help start a program based on the research-based Parent Teacher Home Visit model where school personnel engage with parents to improve the academic and behavioral outcome of students 

  • Sponsored Academic & Arts Acknowledgement breakfast during Bleed Blue week at the high school.

  • Transportation to Academic WorldQuest Competition at the University of Montana.

  • Travel expenses for Foreign Language Day at the University of Montana.

  • Subsidy provided for students taking more than one AP exam.

  • Materials for a mural created by the Art Department using the old door knobs from the CFHS classrooms

  • Pantomime training and workshop for theater students.

  • Purchase of non-fiction novels for AP Language students.

2016

  • Battery operated LED lights to clip on music stands for the band program 

  • Montana Shakespeare in the Schools: two days of performances for the student body and numerous workshops with students. 

  • Durable plastic band stands with graphics for the Columbians Jazz Band.

  • Transportation and lodging for students to attend the State Science Fair at the University of Montana.

  • Partial funding of Advanced Placement Test fees for students taking multiple AP Exams.

  • Group registration fees for participation in the Academic WorldQuest at the University of Montana sponsored by the Montana World Affairs Council.  CFHS was invited to participate.

  • Travel expenses for Language Day at the University of Montana.
  • Table rentals for extra students to take the PSAT.


2015

  • Registration fees for the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium at Montana Tech in Butte

  • Purchase of business simulation software for struggling readers

  • Fees for Cocinando - a professional Latin jazz orchestra that performed and interacted with band and Spanish students

  • Purchase of ACT prep books that can be reused each year

  • Travel expenses for the Independent Science Research class to access current and relevant resources at the Mansfield Library at the University of Montana


2014

  • Travel expenses for the MCTM Math Contest at the University of Montana

  • Travel expenses for Model UN at the University of Montana
